THE DAILY SHOW WITH TREVOR NOAH

vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h40m51s239

Trevor Noah finally made his debut as the The Daily Show host and pretty much made a good impression. I laughed all through the entire show!

Trevor Noah took over the show after Jon Stewart and personally I feel 20 minutes was way to little for the first episode.

On to my favorite thing about comedy, jokes. I have a number of best ones but I will quote a few, literally!!

  • “Jon Stewart was more than just a late night host. He was often our voice, our refuge, and in many ways, our political dad, and now it’s weird, because dad has left. And now, it feels like the family has a new step dad, and he’s black, which is not ideal.”
  • “It turns out that Comedy Central did ask women to host, and the women they asked turned the job down, because they all had better things to do and clearly knew something I didn’t. Also, why didn’t they get an American to host? Again, Comedy Central tried, and those people also declined. So once more, a job Americans rejected is now being done by an immigrant.”
  • “Seeing as this is my first show, we wanted to start it off with something a little light, so here we go…Syria!”

vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h41m54s102

Senior Congressional Respondent Jordan Kleeper also made an impression. While responding to the resignation of Congress Speaker John Boehner’s resignation, he was on his way to a breakdown.

vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h45m27s195 vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h45m47s138

“The desk is different, there’s a new font, I mean nobody asked me! I just bought a condo. Why’d I buy a condo?!”

Roy Wood, Senior Mars Correspondent also killed it when responding to the discovery of water in Mars.

” I can tell you that I don’t give a s–t”. He further added, ” A brother can’t catch a cab you think he can catch a spaceship?!” Hands down!!!

vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h47m16s0 vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h48m30s18

And  Kevin Hart stopped by, setting the record for most appearances.

vlcsnap-2015-09-29-12h50m06s211

All in all, the show was a huge success and I am now a fan of the Daily Show!

So I have been waiting for the Emmy Nominations to be announced for like forever!!! But the wait is finally over!!!!

It has been an incredible year for a few TV Shows and their stars. Well, Gina Rodriguez is doing pretty well, considering she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a comedy, hopefully she is in the Emmy list for Actress in a Comedy.

Viola Davis and Taraji P Henson are also enjoying the year. The TV shows, How To Get Away with Murder and Empire have gathered a lot of viewers. They made the Emmy list for Best Actress in a Drama Series.

Bob Odenkirk and Jonathan Banks are also doing well. They won Best Actor and Supporting Actor in their hit show Better Call Saul (Breaking Bad spin-off). I personally think they are the next Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul; who as you know won back to back Emmys for Breaking Bad. They are also nominated as well.

The 67th Emmy Nominations were announce yesterday evening and there were mixed reactions to the nomination list. Game of Thrones has picked up most nominations with 24 noms. American Horror Story:Freak Show and Olive Ketteridge follow with 19 and 13 nominations respectively.

Congratulations to all the nominees. Let the winnwer prediction begin!!

The 67th Primetime Emmy Awards will be aired on September 20th

EMPIRE Season 2 to have 18 Episodes.

Good news Empire lovers!

The hit show Empire has been given an 18 episode order. That means six more episodes from Season 1!!! Ain’t that amazing!!!

Personally, I saw it coming. There is no way the second season season would go for 12 episodes.

To add more to the good news, our Cookie drought will end sooner than we expect. Season 2 will air starting September!

16

With the previous season bringing in a number of super guest stars, its no surprise that comedian Chris Rock, Lenny Kravitz and Alicia Keys have been confirmed as Season 2 Guest Stars.

Ne-yo has also been confirmed as music director for season 2. He will work alongside Timbaland who’s the shows music producer. Now that is music I’m looking forward to.

20

Ta’Rhonda Jones and Gabourey Sidibe who play Cookie and Lucious respective personal assistants were also promoted to series regulars. My absolute favorite is Cookie’s Assistant Porsha. Talk about being #loyal!!!!!!

 18 19

The last season saw Jamal Lyon take over as CEO of Empire Entertainment. Let’s wait and see if he will balance between running the company and his music. Lucious also got arrested. Will he get out? And he does, any revenge plans?

The countdown to September has already begun.
